Occupational HSE. Using a critical behavior checklist it simplifies the safety
audit and has many benefits some of them are enlisted below:
Using a behavioral checklist helps us identifying the types of
safe and unsafe behaviors involved in the different types of tasks carried out
on regular basis on the food manufacturing site. Accordingly this aids to
design and implement corrective and preventive actions for unsafe behaviors and
also encourages to give a verbal feedback, praising a site worker for their
safe behavior boost their morale and make them love their work.
The use of critical behavior checklist also develops the skills
of worker and their competencies. Absenteeism and sickness rates goes low which
is a positive safety culture indicator, this results in less staff turnover. Motivated
team of workers reduces the incidents and accidents rates, this plays vital
role in order to maintain positive health and safety culture in an organization.
Critical behavior checklist also gives us the data and past incident and
accident records along with the preventive and corrective measures to be taken
on site work and activities. Safe working system is established by the use of
checklist within the organization which eases the roles and responsibilities of
supervisors and workers on site. As per the scenario all departments have
common checklist to carry out BSA regularly this is a sign of healthy HSE
Management system and educate all the workers about the hazards and their
controls. The scenario also states that the completed checklist and are
collected daily, to compare and assess the data to identify incidents rate and
give feedback to workers in weekly meetings of all departments. The checklist
helps to establish effective communication method with the workers in order to
address their concerns and resolve them. These checklists are version
